Overview
CraftStage is a production-grade variable-data engine built for laser personalization shops — businesses that engrave trophies, awards, name badges, plaques, pet tags, and pavers.
The problem
If you run a laser personalization shop, you probably know the pain of CorelDRAW's Print Merge workflow. Names get cut off with no warning, font substitution surprises appear when files move between machines, and the whole process crashes if your data isn't perfectly formatted. Many shop owners describe spending hours fighting with Print Merge or manually entering hundreds of names rather than trusting it.
On top of the production issues, getting customer approval means endless email chains with no audit trail.
How CraftStage solves it
CraftStage replaces the Print Merge workflow with a reliable, automated pipeline:
Messy Roster → AI Parsing → Field Mapping → Layout Engine → Preflight → Proofs → Approval → ExportAI Parsing takes messy input — a pasted email, an Excel file, a CSV — and extracts structured data automatically. Special characters like accents and apostrophes are preserved. You review the results and fix any edge cases before moving on.
The Layout Engine measures every piece of text against your template and applies overflow policies. Long names shrink to fit. Addresses wrap to multiple lines. Nothing silently overflows.
Preflight Validation checks every item before production. You see a clear list of errors (which block export) and warnings (which you should review). Once preflight passes with zero errors, you know the output is safe to cut.
Text-to-Curves Export converts all text to vector paths, eliminating font substitution issues. The exported SVG or PDF opens correctly in CorelDRAW on any machine.
The Customer Proof Portal lets your customer review and approve all proofs through a single link — no account needed, no email chains.
Who CraftStage is for
CraftStage is designed for small laser personalization shops with 1–15 employees that process 10 or more variable-data orders per week. Typical users include trophy and awards shops, name badge providers, plaque makers, pet tag stores, and industrial label producers.
The decision maker is usually the shop owner or production manager. Day-to-day users are production staff who process orders, and customers who approve proofs through the portal.
What CraftStage is not
CraftStage is not a design tool — you still create your template designs in CorelDRAW, Illustrator, or your preferred software and upload them to CraftStage. It's also not a shop management system — it doesn't handle quoting, invoicing, or inventory. CraftStage focuses specifically on the variable-data production workflow, from messy input to laser-ready output.
